"I created Total Hockey Training to develop players’ skills the right way: Hockey-specific progressive training protocols designed to help players of all ages and ability levels."
More importantly, I designed the training to be fun, positive and challenging. This training philosophy has proven to be very successful in all of our training facilities. I have dedicated myself to improving the game of hockey through proper skill development. In the last few years, I have built a strong team of hockey professionals to enhance Total Hockey Training through state-of-the-art technology and NHL-based experienced. With this team, Total Hockey Training offers a skill development program with unmatched experience and unparalleled technology. Invest in your players development, invest in your hockey community.”
Dean has dedicated more than 40 years to hockey as both an NHL player (including the Minnesota North Stars) and as a Division 1 and Division 3 coach. After leaving coaching, he reflected back on his career and carefully examined the skill sets crucial to the game of hockey - quick start, quick feet, hockey vision, multi-tasking and hand-eye coordination. He recognized that few training programs focused specifically on these skills in an environment that was year-round, challenging and enjoyable. Committed to the future of hockey and excited by helping players of all abilities, he started Total Hockey in 2002. Since that time, he has patented leading-edge training products such as the Speed Ramp® which helps players improve first-step skating.
"Hockey is my life. I’ve spent the last 30 years either preparing myself for the NHL, playing in the NHL, or instructing young athletes trying to improve their skills. The concept of Total Hockey Training was born out of the rewards, struggles and experiences of my more than 500 NHL games, 20-year tenure as a college coach, and many years spent working with every young athlete to walk through the doors of our skills training facilities. I’ve taken a
lifetime of experience and distilled it into a comprehensive system of training protocols and technology that allows players to reach their fullest potential in the game of hockey."
